When you setup iServe, we will need to have a database of your member information. This information will become the backbone for much of iServe’s functionality. If you have used another app/program for your church work, you can likely “export” your member information in a format so that we can use it to upload and use for iServe.
We will need a CSV file (this is a spreadsheet file) to upload to iServe with your church family’s information. Most of the programs used will allow you to download this type of file that contains all your member information.

Exporting from ServantKeeper #
- Open and log in to the Membership Manager.
- Click [Groups Keeper].
- Double-click (to open) the group you’d like to export.
- Click [Select Fields] and select the fields you’d like to display and export. To add a field to display, simply double-click any field from the “Available Fields” list on the left side to move it to the “Fields Displayed in Order” box on the right.
Individual fields (from the Individual Profile) are identified with a single person icon next to them, while Family fields (from the Family Profile) are identified with a two person icon next to them.
NOTE: Most computers do not have the processing power to display and export ALL fields. It is highly recommended to only select the fields you use in Servant Keeper and wish to use in your export file. It is not necessary to export contribution data from the Membership Manager, as a separate detailed export of contributions can be done, if needed, from the Contribution Manager.
- Click [Save] to save your field selections.
- To export the information now displayed in your group, click [Save As], then choose the type of file you’d like to create (e.g. “Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet).
- Enter a “File name” for the file you’re exporting, choose where you’d like to save the file, then click [Save].
- When the export is complete, you will see a pop-up window reminding you where the file was saved. Click [OK]. Your membership information is now successfully exported.
